Microsoft Excel Large Number Error

Large number pasting / rounding errors

Excel will change any number pasted in longer than 15 digits in length to be correct for the first 15 digits then pad the rest of the number with trailing zereos.

If you collect a 16 digit number with spaces, like a credit card, "4111 1111 1111 1111", and paste it into Excel - it works as Excel sees the spaces and assumes text.

On the other hand if you have a proper number, such as 4111111111111111, paste it into Excel and you get 4111111111111110!

As Excel reads numbers with commas as numbers the following, 4111,1111,1111,1111 becomes 4,111,111,111,111,110
